Životopis
< p > František Jureček (24 September 1868, Moravská Ostrava - 5 October 1925, Moravská Ostrava) was an Ostrava builder and art collector. This entrepreneur built a wide range of residential and business buildings in Ostrava, e.g. on the Czechoslovak Legion class or Svatopluka Square. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Czech Stock Brewery in Moravian Ostrava (current brewery Ostravar). It was he who became the founder of the Association for the construction and maintenance of the exhibition pavilion in Moravian Ostrava, who built today's House of Arts. He did not live to open the building in 1926, but before his death, the association referred a substantial part of its collection of fine art, which contained mainly Czech painting of the 19th century. This so-called "Jureček Gallery" became a permanent gallery exhibition and its gradual expansion became the basis of the current Art Gallery in Ostrava. < / p > < p > František Jureček died in Moravian Ostrava at night from 5th to 6th October 1925. < / p >
