< p > Johann Schmied (in archival sources also Schmidt) was a Baroque masonry master and architect operating in Western Bohemia in the first half of the 18th century. He worked mainly in the service of the Margrave Baden in Karlovy Vary. Among its most important realisations are, for example, the construction of the Pilgrimage Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Skops near Jyltice (1736-1749), the reconstruction of the Church of the Birth of the Virgin Mary and the construction of the Deanery in Toužima (1738-1742) and the construction of the pilgrimage church of Saint Anne in Sedlce near Karlovy Vary (1738-1745). < / p >
