Josef Fanta

< p > Josef Fanta (December 7, 1856, Sudoměřice u Tábora - June 20, 1954, Praha) was a Czech architect, designer of the church equipment, textiles, furniture, painter, author of many publications (e.g. About the character of costume and housing), professor and honorary doctor of the Czech Technical University in Prague and member of the Czech Academy of Sciences and Arts. < / p > < p > He devoted himself to building design, preservation of monuments, he was a designer of artistic craft, especially the precision and parameter of the Christian Academy in Prague as well as a significant patron of art. It belongs to the generation of the National Theatre. In the early days of his career he was one of the representatives of the Neo-Renaissance, collaborated and was influenced by architect Antonín Wiehl, the leader of the Neo-Renaissance following the tradition of the Czech Renaissance of the 16th century. Since the beginning of the 20th century he became one of the most important representatives of Czech Art Nouveau architecture. < / p >
